The Chumbleys celebrate 60th anniversary

— Morris and Avis Chumbley celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family June 13, 2008, at the Porch Restaurant in Russell Springs, Ky.
The event was hosted by Roberta Hudson and Pat Brinson.
Morris and Avis were married June 12, 1948.
Morris is the son of the late Peter and Nettie Chumbley of Jamestown, Ky.
Avis is a daughter of the late Edward and Desdie Bradshaw of Russell Springs, Ky.
The Chumbleys moved to Somerset in 1951 where Morris was employed by Eagle Express Co. until his retirement in 1982.
Avis was a homemaker and was also employed as a bookkeeper for S&T Hardware for several years.
They were blessed with two children, Drs. Brent and (Terri) Chumbley, Corbin, Ky., and Pat (and Bill) Brinson, Somerset.
They also have four grandchildren: Allison and Alex Chumbley of Corbin, Charles Brinson, United States Coast Guard, San Diego, Calif., and Sarah Brinson, Somerset. They have been blessed with one great-grandchild, Sadie Aaron Brinson, Somerset.
During their retirement, they have enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and being with friends and relatives.
Morris also remains active in Legion Post No. 38 as a member of the honor guard.
The Chumbleys attend Somerset First Baptist Church and reside on Briarwood Drive, Somerset.
