The Hargises to observe golden anniversary

— Joyce Dean Meece, daughter of Nellie Meece and the late Virgil Meece of the Dykes community, and Orville Hargis, son of the late James and Florence Hargis of the Ruth community, were united in marriage September 27, 1958.
They were married by Bro. H.J. Ridner at his home in East Somerset, Ky.
Orville retired from Cumberland Wood & Chair and Quality Woodwork after nearly 50 years of service to them.
Joyce retired from Roses after 28 years.
They have two daughters: Sandra Current, Lexington, and Denise (and Doug) Scher, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and three grandsons, Christopher Downs, who hopes to be here for the occasion from Afghanistan; and Alex and Elijah Current, Lexington.
To honor the occasion of their 50th anniversary, the daughters and grandsons will be hosting a celebration Sept. 27, 2008, at the White Lily Fire Department’s community room from 2 until 4 p.m.
Your presence and a card will be the greatest gift ever.
