Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Roberts are the first couple in their family tree to celebrate 50 years of marriage!
Tom was born in Whitley City, Ky., April 6, 1941.
Mary Pribilski was born in Four Queens, N.Y., Nov. 30, 1942.
Fate brought them together in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the Imperial House Restaurant. They met in October 1959.
After a two-week engagement, the couple became husband and wife on November 9, 1959.
Thomas Roberts, son of Dewey and Edith Roberts, is one of nine siblings: Arnold, George, Homer, Margaret, and four others.
Mary Pribilski, daughter of Joseph and Mary Pribilski, is one of seven siblings: Paula, Josephine, Nadene, Wilma, Jean and Edward.
Thomas and Mary Roberts have been blessed with four children: Allen, Teresa, Wayne and Brian.
Allen has a wife, Vera, six children and four grandchildren.
Teresa has a husband, Curtis Isaacs, four children and three grandchildren.
Brian and wife, Vianna, have five children and one grandchild.
Wayne has five children and one grandchild.
All together, there are four children, nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with more to come!
Tom and Mary have lived in the Somerset area on and off through the years. They went to Michigan for a period of time and Tom worked at General Motors there.
Also known as “Yellow Jacket” and “Lady Yellow Jacket,” Tom and Mary have been active on the CB radio for many years.
Tom and Mary will be reciting their 50th anniversary vows on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary of Victory Christian Fellowship on Oak Hill Road.
Come one and all at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate with Tom and Mary on this special day.
A reception will follow.
All are welcome. Your presence will add to the joy that Tom and Mary share on this wondrous occasion.
