Firefighters were called to Somerset Pellet Fuel Company, located just off North U.S. 27 between Somerset and Science Hill, at around 9 a.m. Friday after sawdust, stored in a silo on the company property, caught fire. Somerset Fire Department responded, with assistance from Parkers Mill and Science Hill fire departments, and they stayed on the scene into Friday afternoon to ensure that the smoldering blaze was doused completely.
