Somerset Mayor Eddie Girdler, flanked by Eastern Kentucky PRIDE Field Representative Mark Davis and Shannon Rickett, field representative for Congressman Hal Rogers, is shown speaking about the city’s new curbside recycling pick-up program Tuesday morning during a ceremony at Somerset City Hall. The city has begun delivering 2,000 36-gallon recycling containers for city residents, and it expects another shipment of 2,000 containers in 30 days. The city’s many apartment residents have already received smaller 28-quart containers.
