Stella Hall celebrates birthday

Stella Branham Hall, Somerset, celebrated her 90th birthday at her home Friday, June 5, 2009.

She was born at Dwale, Ky. (Floyd County), in 1919 to John Polk and Nancy Laffery Branham.

She is the mother of 11 children: Troy Hall and Janelle H. Conn, Somerset; Ruby Ratliff, Prestons-burg; Helen VanHoose, Mason Neck, Va.; Phyllis Burchett, Louis-ville; James Hall, Mt. Eden; Pat Eichenberger, Louisville; Barbara Beese, Richmond; Mike Hall, Bardstown; and two sons who are deceased, Monroe and Denzil Hall.

She is the grandmother of 16, two of which live in Somerset, Kristel Fryman and Dina Lay; and great-grandmother of 24 children. One grandchild, Olivia Nikole, is deceased.

Stella and her husband lived in Floyd County for over 70 years where he was a business owner and she a homemaker.

They retired to Somerset in 1990 and enjoy traveling, gardening, entertaining their family and get-ting acquainted with the beautiful sights of the Lake Cumberland region.
