Samuel T. Stevens of Pinnacle Pointe Drive celebrated his 90th birthday with a party at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Van Over, on Saturday, August 9.
Mr. Stevens was born in Ashland, Ky., on August 6, 1918, and grew up there, graduating from Ashland High School in 1936.
He served with the 434th Infantry in North Africa and Italy during World War II and retired from Armco Steel in Ashland after a career of more than 35 years.
Local guests included Mr. Stevens’ son, Timothy, of Nancy; Jan and Larry Ratliff and Tyler Daniel of Somerset, and Bill Shouse of Nancy.
Out-of-town guests included Mr. Stevens’ granddaughter, Lisa Hall, and her husband, Shawn, of Independence, Ky., and his two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Braden; Mr. Stevens’ sister, Ethel Lamb, Shawn and Deanna Holiday and their children, Clint, Cody and P.J., and friend, Josie Wells, Charlie Hall and daughter Shian and son, Cole Hall, all of Coal Grove, Ohio; Rocky and Deborah Spain of Ashland, Ky.; David and Jessica Hall of Lexington; Larry Moore of Ceredo, W.Va.; David Moore of Kenova, W.Va.; Kevin Moore of Ceredo, W.Va.; and Sidney Conley of Huntington, W.Va.
