Local high schools attend senior seminar

Seniors from Pulaski County High School, Southwestern High School and Somerset High School attended Senior Seminar 2007 on Wednesday at the Center for Rural Development. The day was to help the seniors learn about different aspects of life, which will affect them after graduation. Seminars throughout the day included Reaching Your Potential, taught by Carl Downey, a consultant and the owner of the Diversified Training Group; Parenting 101, taught by Carrie Altmaier, Pulaski County Parents as Teachers; Where’s the Money, taught by Adam Richardson, AG Edwards Investments; Healthy Relationships, taught by Melissa Warner, Adanta; It’s party Time, taught by Kelly Cooper Dorinda Maynard and Joy Wheeldon, Pulaski County Substance Abuse Counselors; and Your Future in he Workforce, taught by Shirlene Taylor, Workforce Development.
The event which also had several keynote speakers was sponsored by a School to Work grant, the Youth Services centers of Pulaski Central, Pulaski County High School and Southwestern High School and Somerset High School.
