Yellow Ribbon Project shares letters from soldiers

Dear Yellow Ribbon Project:

We, the soldieres of the 1-149th IN BN, want to thank all of the wonderful people from Kentucky that have sent care packages. You are our heroes. The soldiers love to receive the care packages. The looks on their faces when they see their packages in the mail is like looking at a kid’s face at Christmas time. Again, thanks from all my soldiers.

Dear Yellow Ribbon Project:

I’m very proud to be serving you guys over here. You really make me understand the importance we have over here. I am very pleased that all of the soldiers were adopted, and you have families waiting to adopt. That is outstanding!! My hats off to you guys. Your program really takes pride for its countrymen, and in return we, the countrymen, take pride in you all. Thank you for believing in us. —SSG Steven

Thank you…

The Pulaski County Yellow Ribbon Project would like to thank Kis Photo, Don Marshall, Dr. David Weber and the Pulaski County Schools for allowing the many citizens of Pulaski County who have “adopted” soldiers to drop off their packages each month. Allowing folks to drop off their packages makes the daunting task of gathering 108 packages from all areas of the county much easier. Thanks so much for giving of yourselves and for allowing this disruption of your business each month.

Although we have successfully adopted 108 soldiers, most from Pulaski County, we will soon run out of money to ship those very important packages.

These packages mean the world to these men and women and they look forward to their arrival each and every month. It gives them a much needed connection to their hometown and that connection gives them the inspiration to continue on. To read letters directly from soldiers who have received these packages please visit our website at www.yellowribbonproject.org and click on the link for letters home. You won’t soon forget them.

If you, your friends, or your business could pledge $35 per month we could continue sending packages. All we need is 35 people to pledge that amount and we can continue with our mission to show our local military members that they are loved, prayed for and not forgotten. Won’t you help us? There are many creative ways to raise the money and we can help you come up with some ideas.

Please feel free to contact Sandie Frantz at 451-0433 or J.O. Rose at 305-9102 and we will be happy to talk to you about your pledge.
