Emma R. Gilmore Lewis Coffey, 77, Somerset, Ky., passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Golden Years Nursing Home, Monticello, Ky.
Mrs. Coffey was born in Somerset on April 18, 1930, to the late Claude and Carrie Lee Richardson Norman. She was a member of the First Church of God of America for several years.
Mrs. Coffey is survived by seven sons, Luther M. (and Lois) Gilmore, Trinity, Texas, David L. Gilmore, Lexington, Ky., William P. (and Janie) Lewis II, Baytown, Texas, Robert E. Lewis, Beattyville, Ky., Michael R. (and Nikki) Lewis, Bowling Green, Ky., Anthony M. Lewis, LaGrange, Ky., and Derrick S. (and Sonya) Lewis, Somerset; four daughters, Donna L. (and Ronnie) Stigall, Delories A. (and Larry) Stigall, Rhonda D. (and Randy) Mills, and Angela F. (and Mike) Cowan, all of Somerset; a brother, Raymond Norman, Cleveland, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, Mary, Brian, LaShawnda, David, Justin, William, Tiffany, Dolphka, Afton, Jasmine, Jordan, Cheyanne, Jessica, Jamar, Ciara, Ron, Phillip, Lamint, Katelynn, Taya and Brooklyn; a niece, Amanda Cunningham; and two nephews, Harold and Ray Norman, Somerset.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Coffey, whom she married in 1979; a son, Richard W. Gilmore; and two brothers, Harold Norman and Edgar Norman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro. Eric Barnes officiating.
Interment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, March 4, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emma R. Gilmore Lewis Coffey Memorial Fund.
