Silas William Wilson, 65, of New Castle, Ind., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born April 22, 1943 in Keno, Ky., to the late Gilbert and Girtie (Taylor) Wilson.
He has been a resident of Henry County for over 46 years and had worked for Farm Bureau, New Castle Products and retired Chrysler Corporation in New Castle after 37 ? years of service. He was member of the UAW Local 371. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his retiree friends, spending time in Florida, and working in his yard. He also enjoyed his Cadillac, and riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, June Wilson of New Castle; two daughters: Lori Ann (and husband Ric) Snyder of Ft. Wayne and Misty Dawn Wilson of New Castle; two grandsons: Silas Wilson Snyder and Solomon Jon Snyder both of Fort Wayne; a brother: Jimmy (wife: Janie) Wilson of New Castle; sisters: Juanita (and husband Harold) Wilson, Jean (and husband Harold) Dobbs, Sue Johnston and Joyce (and husband A.J.) Davis all of New Castle, Faye (and husband James) Daily of Toledo, Ohio and Brenda (and husband Jerry) Phelps of Somerset, Ky.; a sister-in-law: Wanda Wilson of Somerset, Ky.; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles and aunts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; a sister, Mallie Kidd, in 1976; three brothers, Arthur Wilson in 2002 and James and Virgil Wilson, both in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Ernest Johnston.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Larrell Boling officiating.
Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
