— Betty C. Girdler, age 65, of Science Hill, Ky. passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Mrs. Girdler was born in Burnside, Ky. on Aug. 25, 1943 to the late Joe Edwards and Bonnie Burton Silvers. She enjoyed care giving and spending time with her family. Mrs. Girdler was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Girdler is survived by her husband, Edward Girdler, Science Hill, Ky.; three sons, Silas Paul (and Rita) Hughes, Somerset, Ky., David Russell (and Shirley) Hughes, Bronston, Ky., and Edward Wayne Girdler, Somerset, Ky.; a daughter, Bonnie Lynn (and Jason) Acey, Science Hill, Ky.; one aunt, Winnie Nethery, Orlando, Fla.; and grandchildren, Payton Michelle Acey, Carey Ann Hughes, Paul David Hughes, Justin Girdler, Randy Patterson, Casper Hughes, Jordan Girdler and Dakota Acey.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lonnie Silvers, Cecil Silvers, and Larry Silvers; and two sisters, Linda Sue Barnett and Oza Lee Silvers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W Hwy 80, Somerset, Ky.
Funeral services for Betty C. Girdler will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Bro J.S. New and Bro Johnnie Dunbar officiating. Interment will follow in Grace Chapel Cemetery, Nancy, Ky.
