— Vernon Lee Swanner, 69, a resident of Hartsville Convalescent Center in Hartsville, Tenn., and a former resident of Somerset, Ky., passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008, in Hartsville.
He was born March 15, 1939, at Burden Valley, Ky., the son of the late William Swanner and Irene Burdine Swanner. He was married to Gloria Jean Reed Swanner on May 5, 1968, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2005. He was employed at Kentucky Stone for many years, and attended church at Chimney Rock. He had been living in nursing homes for the past 13 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Kay Swanner, and her friend, Charles Bolin; and two sons, Lynn Swanner and Lee Swanner Jr., both of Somerset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene; and one brother, Kelcie Burdine.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
