— Kathy Lynn Stringer Baer, 52, formerly of Eubank, Ky., passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on April 4, 1957 in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of Glenda Girdler McQueen and the late William F. Stringer. She was a nurse's aide and charter member of the Denham Street Baptist Church. Kathy loved the ocean, fishing, camping, and bingo.
Kathy is survived by two daughters, Jane (and Brad) Wiles of Eubank, Ky., and Jacqueline (and Maurice) Powers of Eubank, Ky.; her mother and step-father, Glenda and Jackie McQueen of Somerset; two brothers, Ricky (and Judy) Stringer of Somerset and Jeff (and Angela) Stringer of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Beverly (and Jim) Mitchell of Somerset and Tina (and Mike) Baker of Somerset; seven grandchildren, Justin Delaney, Nicholas Tittle, Austin Powers, Tyler Tittle, Joshua Powers, Ashlynn Tittle, and Holly Wiles; paternal grandmother, Thelma Stringer of Somerset; stepmother, Gladys Stringer of Somerset; special friends, Jo Ann and Willard Cravens of Science Hill, Ky.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death was her father, William F. Stringer; a grandchild, Jordan Powers; a sister, Sherry Lynn Stringer; paternal grandfather, Robert "Bob" Stringer; and maternal grandparents, John and Bernetta Girdler.
Visitation for Kathy will be Sunday, June 28 after 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Ky. 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. J.S. New and Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Ky., 42503.
