Claude Randall Acton, 66, Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at his residence.
He was born in Eubank, Ky., on April 10, 1942, to the late Claude Ray and Jessie Mildred Griffin Acton. He was a farmer, laborer for many years at Kingsford Charcoal Plant and enjoyed being outdoors and collecting arrowheads. He was a member of the Estesburg Church of Christ.
Mr. Acton is survived by a wife, Linda Sue Bray, whom he married on Feb. 16, 1963; two daughters, Janet Sue and Wayne Mounce, Somerset and Janice A. and James Clark, Somerset; five sons, Charles Ray and Treba Acton,
Somerset, Randy and Peggy Acton, Somerset, Roy Gene Acton, Somerset, David Wayne and Amy Acton, Somerset, Joseph Matthew and Amanda Acton, Waynesburg; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Morris & Peggy McClure, Virginia and 3 sisters, Jacqueline Wilda Acton, Eubank, Beverly Lodine Acton, Eubank, Valerie & Wesley Bray, Lancaster.
Mr. Acton is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Douglas McClure.
Funeral services for Claude Randall Acton will be held on Friday, July 4 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating.
Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Acton, Anthony Acton, Chad Acton, Randy Lee Foster, Jarred Thurman and Joe Ben Radford.
Visitation will be held today at 6 p.m. at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
