Ronnie Dykes

Ronnie Gene Dykes, age 60, of Corbin passed away Monday, July 14, 2008. Mr. Dykes was born in Somerset, Ky. on Oct. 18, 1947 to the late Wesley and Bertene Baker Dykes. He was a retired law enforcement officer with the U.S. Forest Service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Dykes was one of the founding members of the Mt. Victory Volunteer Fire Department in May 1979, having served as chief and assistant chief.
He is survived by Vicki Garrison Dykes whom he married in 1972; two sons, Glenn (and Brandy) Dykes, of Shopville, Steven (and Stephanie) Dykes, of Mt. Victory; a daughter, Lori Young, of London, Ky.; a brother, Marvin (and Wanda) Dykes, of White Lily, Ky.; and a grandchild, Ashley Dykes, of Bronston.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Ronnie Gene Dykes will be held on Friday, July 18 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Bro. Dalous Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Garrison Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
