— Ruth M. Harris, 81, a resident of Somerset, Ky., passed away under the loving care of her daughter at her home on Jesse Sears Road in Somerset on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.
She was born April 18, 1927, in Muncie, Ind., the daughter of the late Neal Lucas and Selma Domas Lucas. She was married to Raymond Harris and he preceded her in death in November of 1994.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Selma; her husband, Raymond; one brother, Neal Lucas; one grandchild, Michael Benjamin Merrick; and one great grandson, Clayton Fields Merrick. Ruth was originally from the Florence, Ky., area before moving to Somerset. She attended Parkers Mill Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home “Life’s Memories Chapel” with Hospice Chaplain David Green and Bro. Lowell Bowling officiating. Musical selections include the Celtic Women’s “The Prayer” and “Somewhere Over The Women”, Josh Groban’s “He Raised Me Up” and “In The Garden”. Pianist will be Diane Begley.
A visitation will be held Wednesday (today) morning from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Erlanger, Ky.
