Science Hill needs police protection

Dear Editor:

I am writing about concerns to do with police protection that I thought we had, but evidently I was wrong.

I had someone recently beating on the windows of the house and ringing the door bell and trying to enter my home at 2 a.m. in the morning. I was scared.

I called 911 and the dispatcher wouldn’t send a police unit out to my house. She just kept asking questions like ... if I knew them, etc.

Also, the person was intoxicated with drugs and/or alcohol and I didn’t know what they might do.

I live in Science Hill and we don’t have any police here that will do their job correctly and our mayor and two of the city commissioners won’t try to improve the situation.

All they do (the three of them) is sit up there on their butts and draw the money each month and it doesn’t matter what goes on with the city.

They also let Edd Massey help run the city and he has no business doing anything.

But anyway what I’m trying to say is we need police protection and we can’t get it from Science Hill and we can’t get it from Somerset either.

So, what are we supposed to do? Just let someone break in on us and either hurt, rape or maybe even kill us?

What is the world coming to?

We need help and we need it bad!
