Arrests made after Nancy break-in

Sheriff’s department investigation also leads to discovery of meth lab

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two men in connection with a break-in at a Nancy area garage — and an investigation into the incident also led to the discovery of a meth lab.

Terry Flanagan, 41, of Nancy, and Robert R. Kinney, 29, of Liberty, were arrested on Pulaski District Court warrants Friday, charged with several theft and drug-related offenses.

Authorities say more than $15,000 worth of tools and other items were stolen from a garage owned by Billy Wilson on West Ky. 80 sometime around Saturday, March 15.

An investigation led authorities to a home on Ky. 761 in the Naomi community of Pulaski County. Most of the stolen property was recovered there.

Investigators also executed a search warrant at Terry Flanagan’s Nancy residence — where, on March 19, they found a stolen firearm and equipment and chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The meth lab was cleaned up by the sheriff’s department and the Somerset Fire Investigation Division.

Flanagan was charged with receiving stolen property, a class D felony; manufacturing methamphetamine, a class B felony; first degree possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense, a class A misdemeanor.

Kinney was charged with first degree burglary, a class B felony, and theft by unlawful taking, a class D felony.

Both men were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. Flanagan is being held on a $40,000 cash bond, and Kinney is being held on a $25,000 cash or property bond, a jail spokesman said.

An investigation into the incident is continuing by the sheriff’s department, and at least one additional arrest is expected.
