Three people arrested on theft charges

Local News

By CHRIS HARRIS, CJ Staff Writer
Commonwealth Journal

It was a matter of steal, not steel, for a trio of suspected metal thieves arrested yesterday by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

Somerset residents Michael L. Dunn, 46, of Brian’s Lane, Joey Foster, 47, of Elliott Drive, and Victoria H. Somers, 49, of South Richardson Drive, were arrested and charged with one count each of theft by unlawful taking over $300.

Dunn was also charged on a Pulaski Circuit Court warrant on indictment for two counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, and on a Pulaski District Court bench warrant for failure to appear earlier this month.

At 12:17 p.m., sheriff’s units responded to a report of a theft in progress on Hacker Road. Upon their arrival, an investigation revealed that family members of the property owner had the suspects’ truck blocked from leaving the scene.

Deputies found stolen metal, including roofing and other materials which had been left on the Hacker Road property by the owner, loaded onto the back of the truck, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

All three suspects were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
