PV2 Bruce D. Blankenship, 403rd Airborne Unit, which is serving at Ballad Air Force Base, Iraq, spent an 18-day visit at home. His family (wife Heather; stepson, Jacob; two daughters, Makayla and Brandee; and his parents, Lonnie and Annette Vaught, all of Somerset) helped him celebrate his birthday while here. He was first deployed to Iraq in July 2007 and completes his tour of duty at the end of October 2008 at which time he will return to Fort Bragg, N.C.
