The 2008 4-H camping season is quickly approaching. This year’s camp will be held on June 24-27 at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp in Jabez.
4-H Camp is a great way for any child to learn new things, make new friends and have a great time this summer.
Some of the activities and classes at this year’s camp include canoeing, fishing, cooking, swimming, high and low ropes, crafts, rifle and archery just to name a few.
Any child between the ages of 9-13 (must turn 9 before the first day of camp) is eligible to attend camp and they do not have to be presently enrolled in 4-H.
The cost of this year’s camp is $110, which includes three nights lodging, nine meals, two snacks per day and class fees.
There are some scholarships available and applications for scholarships can be picked up at the Pulaski County Extension Office along with the application packet for camp.
Adult and teen volunteers are needed as well to ensure a successful week. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this year’s camp, contact the Pulaski County Extension Office at 679-6361 for an application.
The deadline for camper registration is June 4, 2008. Campers will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis so get your application today.
