A Somerset woman was killed and several others injured Saturday night in an accident on South U.S. 27.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, at almost 10:30 p.m., Derk Howard, 41, Colyer Lane, Burnside, was driving a 1999 Ford Van westbound on Tateville Antioch Road and was attempting to cross U.S. 27 when he pulled into the path of a southbound 2001 Ford pickup operated by Timmy J. Burke, 43, of Stearns, Ky.
Three passengers in the Burke vehicle, Jeanie S. Burke, 44, Nicole C. Burke, 17, and Ciara Burke, 11, all of Stearns, were treated at the scene and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Somerset EMS.
Howard and a passenger in his vehicle, Dee Gregory, 43, of Anderson Drive, Somerset, were both treated at the scene and taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Howard was later flown to the University of Kentucky Medial Center.
Ms. Gregory was pronounced dead at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
Sheriff’s Units at the scene were assisted by the Tateville Fire Department, Parkers Mill Fire Department, and the Pulaski County Fifth District Constable.
