A Eubank man was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and another man was hospitalized following a head-on collision on Ky. 39 Saturday.
The wreck occurred just after 1 p.m., approximately five miles north of Somerset. According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Robert J. Wesley, 24, of Floyd Switch-Estesburg Road in Eubank, was driving a 2000 Plymouth southbound on Ky. 39 when he crossed the center line, striking a 2002 Ford head-on.
The Ford was being operated by Michael D. Strunk, 38, of Brodhead, Ky. He was extricated from the vehicle by the Somerset-Pulaski Rescue Squad and transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Somerset-Pulaski Fire/EMS, where he was treated but not admitted.
Wesley was treated at the scene and airlifted to the University of Kentucky by LifeNet. He is currently listed as being in fair condition.
Sheriff’s units were assisted at the scene by the Dabney Fire Department.
