Four more arrests made in theft ring

By HEATHER PYLES, Staff Writer
Commonwealth Journal

Somerset Four more arrests were made in connection with a wave of February thefts that affected homes across the county.

The three-month long investigation undertaken by Detectives John Hutchinson and Bobby Jones with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department netted numerous individuals involved in the theft ring. Those individuals were indicted by a Pulaski County grand jury in May for their participation in the ring.

Arrested on warrants of indictment were the following:

• Randy G. Brumley, 21, of 204 West Columbia Street, Somerset. Brumley was arrested on Thursday, June 12, and charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, four counts of theft by unlawful taking over $300 and three counts of theft by unlawful taking.

• Pam Jones, 40, of 100 Circle Drive, Burnside. Jones was arrested Friday, June 13, and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property over $300, receiving stolen property (firearm) and four counts of receiving stolen property under $300.

• Timmy J. Jones, 34, of 100 Circle Drive, Burnside. Jones was arrested on Friday, June 13, and charged with seven counts of receiving stolen property over $300 and three counts of receiving stolen property (firearm).

• Clifford R. Jones, 79, of 1799 Coomer Road, Burnside. Jones was arrested Monday, June 9, and charged with receiving stolen property over $300.

All of the arrested suspects were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

A total of 15 people were indicted in March on more then 100 counts of burglary and related theft charges in connection with the thefts. Six others were arrested earlier this month, and five others have yet to be apprehended.

Items such as firearms, electronics, and jewelry were reported stolen, and many of the items, valued at over $45,000 were returned to their owners.

The investigation into the burglaries and thefts is continuing by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
