Army Brig. Gen. Les Beavers (left) presents Pulaski Countian Clarence Vaught the medals he earned during World War II at a medal restoration ceremony earlier this month at Thomson-Hood Veteran's Center in Wilmore, Ky. The medal ceremony was to restore medals to World War II veterans who never received them after returning from the war because there was a shortage of metal because it was being used to make ammunition during the war. Vaught was awarded The Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and Japan Clasp, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII, Marksman Badge & Rifle Bar and a Cold War Certificate.
