Two men were arrested recently by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Depart-ment on a variety of charges, including drug possession, burglary, and forgery.
On Monday, Richard D. Burton, 23, of Liberty Road in Eubank, was arrested by Deputy David Wesley on a Pulaski Circuit Court indictment and charged with 35 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument — all felonies.
The indictment was returned by the July session of the Pulaski County Grand Jury following a six-month long investigation conducted by Lt. Brett Whitaker which revealed that Burton was involved in the forgery of 35 personal checks written on the account of a Science Hill woman, according to the Sheriff’s department.
Burton was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. The investigation is continuing by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division.
Also arrested Monday was Jackie D. Decker, 23, of Jared’s Way in Bronston, by Lt. Philip Cross and Deputy David Wesley. He was charged with first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $300, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon — all felonies.
An indictment was returned by the July session of the Pulaski County Grand Jury following a year-long investigation conducted by Det. Bobby Jones, revealing that on March 8, 2006, Decker forcibly entered a residence on Bobbi Drive in Bronston and removed numerous firearms from the residence that were valued at more than $300, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Decker was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
