‘Rock-n-Rumble’ fund-raiser to benefit Hospice/God’s Food Pantry

Community News

Commonwealth Journal

A full day of live music, double-feature movies and a fun day in the sun for all ages is coming this Saturday to “Rock-n-Rumble” at 27 Twin Drive-in to benefit Hospice of Lake Cumberland and God’s Food Pantry.

Clear Channel Lake Cumberland is presenting eight area bands with a wide variety of musical styles to get music lovers of all ages “tappin’, clappin’ and rockin’” throughout the day.

The music begins at noon and will feature local bands, Deth Formula, Eyes of Delirium, Next of Kin, The Hillbilly String Social, Wanted, Battered-n-Broken, Night Train and Nashville-based Supernatural Disaster.

As darkness falls, the live music will be followed by a special movie showing of “The Rocker,” along with “Babylon AD.”

The event will support God’s Food Pantry and Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Everyone attending is encouraged to bring canned or packaged food to help fill the shelves at God’s Food Pantry, which serves over 770 Pulaski County families a month.

Admission for the whole day, including the featured movies, is just $10 per person.

Half of the admission proceeds will go to Hospice of Lake Cumberland to help provide care to over 600 seriously-ill patients and their families each year as well as supporting free community bereavement programs.

Join this celebration of the 75th anniversary of drive-ins in America by bringing a blanket, a chair or sitting in your car to enjoy great local music and support local charities.

Add to the fun by dressing in “drive-in clothes” from an earlier era or arriving in a classic car. Bring the family and stay all day or come and go.

Hospice of Lake Cumberland and God’s Food Pantry are non-profit organizations supported by generous donations from the community.

Special thanks go to Clear Channel Lake Cumberland and 27 Twin Drive-in for sponsoring “Rock-n-Rumble.”
