A Somerset man has died due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident last week.
Shawn Creech, 26, Somerset, died on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was flown following the accident that occurred on Ky. 1675 Friday, Aug. 29 around 6 p.m.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department’s Deputy Scott West, the accident occurred on Ky. 1675. Creech was driving a pickup truck northbound when he lost control, crossing over the centerline, going into the fence row and traveling approximately 100 feet. At that point, the truck came back into the southbound lane and the front end dug into the ground. The truck stopped as if it had been traveling southbound. West was ejected from the vehicle.
Two passengers in the truck, Charles S. Bryant, 27, Somerset and Anthony Ping, 29, Somerset, were transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Somerset Fire/EMS, following the accident.
Both Bryant and Ping were treated in the emergency room and were not admitted to the hospital, according to Susan Ramsey Wilson, community relations director at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Following the accident, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Funeral arrangements were not complete at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home for Creech on Friday.
