The Somerset High School Marching Band performed at White Castle’s grand opening yesterday morning as customers lined the outside of the new restaurant located at 24 Madison Drive in front of Wal-Mart on U.S. 27. Following its performance, the SHS band received a $1,000 donation from the restaurant. At 4 p.m. yesterday, Eddie Smith, regional director of restaurant operations for Kentucky, said 1,040 people had been served a total of 11,000 White Castles in the first six and a half hours.
