A Williamsburg, Ky., man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Jellico, Tenn., was apprehended by Kentucky State Police in Pulaski County late last week.
According to the Corbin Times-Tribune, Charles Bobby Smith was being held without bond at the Pulaski County Detention Center. He had been wanted in Jellico and in Whitley County, Ky.
Smith allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint in Jellico in July. When authorities there attempted to arrest him, he tried to run over two officers with his SUV.
Whitley County deputies later found Smith’s SUV, but Smith could not be located.
In addition to the charges connected to the robbery and a fugitive charge, Smith was also charged in Pulaski County with third-degree criminal trespassing, giving an officer a false name or address, second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), and resisting arrest.
