Three injured in North U.S. 27 crash

Three people were injured and one flown to Lexington following a two-vehicle accident in Science Hill.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred just after noon yesterday at the intersection of North U.S. 27 and Frog Hollow Road, slightly south of the Valley View shopping center.
Rebecca Harper, 53, of Loveless Road in Science Hill was operating a 1996 Toyota westbound on Frog Hollow Road and was attempting to cross the highway when she pulled into the path of a southbound 1997 Buick driven by Danny Warren, 41, of Hermine Drive, Somerset.
Following the collision, Harper found herself trapped in her vehicle, and had to be extricated by members of the Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad. She was treated at the scene by Somerset-Pulaski County EMS, and then was flown via an Air Methods helicopter to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Warren was unharmed, according to the sheriff’s department.
A passenger in Harper’s vehicle, Donald Pettyjohn, 27, of Puncheon Creek Road in Science Hill, and a passenger in the Warren vehicle, Agnes Warren, 69, of West Ky. 452, Eubank, also had to be extricated from their respective vehicles by members of the Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad. Both individuals were treated at the scene and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Somerset-Pulaski County EMS, were they were treated in the emergency room.
Sheriff’s units were assisted at the scene by the Science Hill Fire Department.
