Jury returns indictments
Theft and burglary top the list of typical crimes

SOMERSET, Ky. —
A man allegedly connected to several burglaries in Pulaski County was arrested this week on a Pulaski County Circuit Court warrant of indictment.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Emmanuel J. Joseph, 23, of 205 County Line Road, Eubank, was arrested Wednesday on multiple theft and burglary charges.
A Pulaski County Grand Jury handed down the theft and burglary indictments on Wednesday, Nov. 19. According to those indictments, Joseph and several other individuals reportedly burglarized at least three homes and properties in the county from December 2007 to May 2008.
Joseph was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of theft by unlawful taking over $300, theft by unlawful taking under $300 and complicity theft by unlawful taking over $300.
The Criminal Investigations Division of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department carried out the investigation into the burglaries.
Joseph was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $95,000 cash or property bond.
Several other individuals were also indicted on theft and burglary charges in connection with the incidences.
• Ralph Dick, Jr., 20, of Science Hill, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of third-degree complicity to burglary and two counts of complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $300. Dick was arrested Thursday by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash or property bond.
• Amanda Roberts, 21, of Eubank, was indicted by a grand jury on third-degree complicity to burglary and complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $300.
• Rick C. Smittle, Jr., 46, of Eubank, was indicted by a grand jury on receiving stolen property over $300. Smittle was arrested Thursday by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash or property bond.
• Jesse Roberts, 21, of Eubank, was indicted by a grand jury on second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $300 and theft by unlawful taking under $300.
• Daniel Keith, 24, of Eubank, was indicted by a grand jury on third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking over $300.
• James Roberts, 51, of Eubank, was indicted by a grand jury on second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking under $300. Roberts was arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Nov. 20 and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash or property bond.
