Motorcycle wreck on South U.S. 27

Burnside —

The Burnside Police Department responded to a report of a motorcycle accident with injury at 2:34 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 27 and South Horseshoe Drive. According to Burnside Police, Donnie R. Ladd, 35, of Somerset KY was operating a 2011 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle westbound on South Horseshoe Drive when he lost control of the motorcycle as he approached the intersection with U.S. 27. Upon losing control, Ladd was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the northbound lanes, while the motorcycle came to rest in the median. Ladd was treated at the scene by the Somerset-Pulaski County EMS and transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was later airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center via Air Methods. Units were assisted at the scene by the Parkers Mill Volunteer Fire Department, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, and the Somerset Pulaski EMS. Investigation into the collision is continuing.
