3 are arrested 1 person freed, in Goochtown home invasion

Court drops charges against Gregory Scott

Somerset —

Charges have been dropped against a previous suspect in a recent home invasion in northern Pulaski, and three more arrests have been made, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
Gregory W. Scott, of Crab Orchard, 36, appeared in Pulaski District Court on Wednesday morning where the robbery charges against him were dismissed. He was immediately released from the Pulaski County Detention Center where he was being held after turning himself in earlier this week.
On Tuesday night, two suspects were arrested — Aaron N. Tungate, 29, of Country Lane, Somerset, and Victor M. Frantz, 27, of Reddish Street, Ferguson. Both were charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, and two counts of theft of a firearm.
Both suspects were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
An arrest warrant was issued for a third suspect as well. Richard Shannon Patrick, 40, of Losey Street, Somerset, has been charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, and two counts of theft of a firearm.
On Wednesday afternoon, Patrick was apprehended and lodged in the detention center.
On Monday, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a home invasion on Glade Fork Road in the far northern part of the county. The victims reported that three suspects forced their way into the home armed with a bat and knife, and an altercation ensued that cause a weapon to discharge into the wall of the home.
The victims initially told investigators that they recognized one of the suspects, identifying him as Scott. Based on that information, a warrant was issued for Scott’s arrest in connection with the crime.
After his arrest, investigators interviewed Scott, who maintained his innocence and provided detectives with the names of other witnesses who could potentially account for his whereabouts during the time frame in which the home invasion occurred, according to the sheriff’s department.
