Local woman gets 26 years on murder conviction

Robinson, 22, planned 2011 murder of Rockcastle man

(Continued)

Somerset —

Peters, Kirby, Hunsucker and Cameron had pleaded guilty to their involvement in the crimes, with Kirby, Cameron and Peters each receiving a 25-year sentence and Hunsucker getting 20 years in prison.
It was during Robinson’s Sept. 13 sentencing hearing when Rockcastle Circuit Judge Jeffrey T. Burdette opted to hand down a harsher sentence than what the jury initially recommended.
“Methamphetamine and illegal drugs are a scourge on the Commonwealth, and Bullock gave his life as a result,” said Burdette. “I am convinced that (Robinson) was the instigator, and but for her manipulation, none of this would have happened.
“I rarely invade the process of the jury, but the law leaves the sentencing to the judge,” Burdette added during the hearing.
Burdette added an additional four years to the recommended 22-year sentence for a total of 26 years in prison.
Robinson will be required to serve 85 percent of her sentence before she’s eligible for parole, which means she will have to serve at least 22 years.
