More snow, cold weather on its way to Pulaski County

Somerset —

Remember the nice, spring-like conditions Pulaski County experienced this past weekend?
So much for that. Welcome back the snow.
According to the National Weather Service Office in Jackson, Ky., the area could be looking at some more of the white stuff on Tuesday night, going into Wednesday morning.
The snow will likely hit before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, but perhaps enough to make the morning commute a bit tricky.
Pete Geogerian, meteorologist with the Jackson NWS office, said that Pulaski could see about half an inch of snowfall.
It doesn’t sound like much. However, “anytime you get snow,” slickness on the roads could be a problem, he said.
“With Tuesday having a high in the low 40s and Wednesday having a high in the 20s, it could get slick Tuesday night,” said Geogerian.
That said, ice isn’t expected to be a problem for travelers, necessarily. There will be a light rain on Tuesday that will turn to snow overnight.
Change of precipitation on Tuesday night is listed at 60 percent. The high on Wednesday will be at 28, and the low at 18, making conditions chilly toward the middle of the week.
The highs should be back in the 40s by the weekend, according to the NWS.
“There will be a slight moderation through the end of the week, but still averaging below normal (temperatures) for this time of year,” said Geogerian.
