Missing elderly siblings found safe, returned home

Somerset —

Two elderly people reported missing in the overnight hours Monday were found unharmed.
Officers with the Somerset Police Department issued a Golden Alert late Monday evening after Arlene Farmer, 83, and her brother, Vearll Colyer, 86, were last seen in the Jasper Street area.
When an alert such as a Golden Alert or Amber Alert is declared, police, first responders, news media and the general public are alerted to help find the missing person as quickly as possible. Unlike an Amber Alert, those who qualify for a Golden Alert are 18 or older and they may suffer from Alzheimer’s or another mental disability.
Officials reported that Colyer, Farmer’s brother, has dementia.
Farmer was driving a Dodge Avenger when the two went missing.
According to media reports, a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer pulled Farmer over in Fentress County, Tenn. in the early morning hours Tuesday. Soon after, he identified them as the subjects of the Pulaski County Golden Alert.
The two were unharmed, and they’ve returned home.
