Foot pursuit ends with arrest

Suspect had outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court

Somerset —

Officers arrested a Somerset man Tuesday after he allegedly led them on a short foot pursuit.
According to an arrest citation filed by Somerset Police Officer Justin Creech, Bryan Blevins, 31, of Holmes Avenue, Somerset, was arrested at around 4 p.m. Tuesday after Creech, responding to a harassment complaint at a North Maple Street home, came across Blevins.
The North Maple resident who filed the complaint allegedly told Creech that Blevins “ ... showed up outside of the residence and threatened him, claiming that he owed his mother some money,” according to Creech’s arrest report.
“Through duties of patrol I was familiar with Blevins,” Creech wrote in his report.
Creech eventually found Blevins at a home on Lair Street.
“As I was getting out of my (vehicle), Blevins looked back at me and took off running around the back of the residence towards College Street,” Creech wrote on the arrest citation. “I advised Blevins to stop several times and he continued to run.”
Blevins allegedly jumped over a fence on Lair Street and circled back toward North Maple. From there, Blevins reportedly scaled two more fences “in an attempt to flee” and continued toward North Maple.
Blevins was soon after apprehended and arrested without any more incidents in a yard close to North Maple.
SPD Detective Larry Patterson was also involved in the pursuit.
Blevins was arrested on a Pulaski Circuit Court arrest warrant for failure to appear in court.
He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
