Pulaski couple accused of child abuse

A Pulaski County couple has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged abuse of a 15-month-old child.

The victim’s aunt and uncle, Dennis S. Price, 27, and Sandra K. Price, 25, both of Ky. 1003 in Somerset, were arrested and charged with first-degree criminal abuse, a Class C felony. Both have been lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center under a $50,000 cash bond.

The arrests stem from a report of abuse on August 8, which called sheriff’s deputies to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. The 15-month-old was receiving treatment there and was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical center for further treatment of injuries which prompted an investigation into possible abuse.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no information was available on the extent or nature of the child’s injuries. The baby has since been released from the hospital and is in the custody of the Department for Community Based Services.

The investigation by the Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division led to warrants of arrest being issued for the Prices, and is ongoing at this time.
