Somerset S.L.A.M. is next weekend

Somerset —

Musical acts scheduled to perform at Somerset S.L.A.M. on Friday include Jonathon Byrd, The Little Ship, Southern Hemisphere, The Seas, Random S.L.A.M. Jam, and No Pressure Blues Band. Taking the stage on Saturday will be Sammie Suggitt, Dead Willy, Signature, Tidalwave Road, Psygogglin, The Old Americans, Too Many Drummers, Out of the Ashes, Sometimes Saturday, and OTIS.
Along with arts, crafts and music, there will be vendors, food, children’s activities and inflatables.
Artists and crafters, local authors and any community or outreach program for music, art or drama are welcome to participate at no charge.  Also, any non-profit organization is welcome to participate at no charge.  Please contact to sign up no later than Monday, May 13.
Those with free booth spaces may not sell food items due to contracts with other food vendors.  They can, however, sell any other items, distribute literature or accept donations for craft or art activities for children and/or adults.
A limited number of vendor spaces are still available for $50 each for food, home-based businesses or other types of merchants.  These may be reserved by contacting Laura Glover at The Center at 606-677-6000 or the Clear Channel Radio Sale Department at 606-678-5151.
Padgett said she hopes this could become an annual event — potentially even in the spring and fall both — if it gets enough public support.
“We are very excited to bring this event to Somerset and hope it will be a successful display of music and art for our community,” said Padgett. “Our biggest hope is that not only will it be successful this year, but will be something that will grow and prosper in the coming years.  There is just so much musical and artistic talent in the area and I think many people have no idea just how much doesexist until they are all brought together for an event like this.
