24 people have been arrested so far in drug roundup

Somerset — Twenty-four people have so far been arrested as part of Wednesday’s multi-agency round-up of more than 40 people on a variety of drug charges.

Initially, 21 people were arrested Wednesday after investigators with a number of law enforcement agencies fanned out across Pulaski County to serve more than 40 arrest warrants on 71 individual drug charges.

The operation ended a year-long investigation into alleged illegal drug trafficking in prescription pills, methamphetamines, marijuana, and psychedelic drugs.

Agents with the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force, the Somerset Police Department, the Kentucky State Police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service were involved in the 12-month investigation that led up to Wednesday’s operation.
