Hunter Flynn rushes for 113 yards in Oak Hill senior’s win over Shopville

Senior Division
Oak Hill 13, Shopville 6
The Oak Hill Wolverines were led by Hunter Flynn who rushed for 113 yards on 12 carries. Jacob Raikes rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Pruitt rushed for 12 yards, passed for 25 yards, scored one touchdown rushing and completed a pass to Justin Whitten for an extra point conversion.
The Wolverines defense was led by Brandon Pruitt who had seven tackles and one interception. Lucas Turpin, Tucker Robinson, and Hunter Flynn each had five tackles. Dan Lewis, David Young, and Austin Shults had multiple tackles. Treven Spencer had a fumble recovery.
Pee Wee Division
Southern 40, EWS 7
The Southern Braves were led on offense by Cole Dysinger who scored two touchdowns, Austin Upchurch who scored two touchdowns, Isaac Hardwick who scored one touchdown and three extra point conversions, General Hardwick who scored one touchdown and Michael Raliegh who had one extra point conversion.
The EWS Bulldogs were led by Dakota Slavey who rushed for one touchdown, and one extra point. Caleb Adams and Zack Huff contributed yardage for the Bulldogs.
The Braves defense was led by Chase Parmelee and Austin Upchurch who had five tackles each. Also getting multiple tackles for Southern were Cole Dysinger, Jimmy Ray Perdue, Nick Coleman, Isaac Hardwick, Jett Phillippi, Skylar Perdue, and General Hardwick.
The Bulldog defense was led by Dakota Slavey with four tackles and a fumble recovery. Levi Blevins, Zack Huff, Sean Mankin, Caleb Adams, Mason Casada, Isaiah Cook, Sean Denney and Jordan Williams had multiple tackles against the Braves.
Junior Division
Southern 40, EWS 6
The Southern Braves were led on offense by Isaiah Baker and Logan Dykes who scored two touchdowns each. Patric Edwards and Bradley Helton each scored one touchdown. Caleb Honeycutt, Trevor Brock, and Zach Mattingly each had an extra point conversion.
The EWS Bulldogs were led by Toby Wilson who rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown. Ethan Bailey, Kolton Adams, and Christian Long rushed for positive yardage for the Bulldogs.
The Southern defense was led in tackles by Isaiah Baker and Charlie Hill. Also having multiple tackles were David Conrad, Logan Dykes, and Bradley Helton. Matthew Nelson stripped the ball and recovered the fumble. Logan Dykes and Landon Fields each had a fumble recovery.
The Bulldogs defense was led by Gage Chansler who had five tackles. Sam Baker, Cannon Calder, Toby Wilson, Ethan Bailey, Nick Williams and Christian Long made multiple stops against the Braves offense.
Senior Division
EWS 20, Southern 9
The EWS Bulldogs were led by Tyler Kirby who rushed for 128 yards, two touchdowns, and two extra point conversions. Lane Wilson rushed for 65 yards. Zack Bullock and Dylan Stewart had good rushes for the Bulldogs.
The Southern Braves were led on offense by Clayton Phelps who gained 62 yards rushing and 70 yards passing. Clayton connected with Jordan Hardwick for a 14 yard touchdown pass. Jose Herrera converted the extra point. Brandon Dodson and Blaine Walden contributed yardage for both on the ground and through the air for the Braves.
The Bulldogs did not limit their scoring to the offense, as Lane Wilson intercepted two passes, returning one of those for a touchdown. Jarod Denney led the defense with 16 tackles and one quarterback sack. Tyler Kirby had nine tackles and a quarterback sack. Zack Bullock, Dylan Stewart, Lane Wilson, Clay Brandenburg and Toby Wilson had multiple tackles.
The Southern defense was led in tackles by Harley Davis, Clayton Phelps, and Brandon Dodson. Bradley Fischer recovered a fumble in the end zone for a safety. Also having multiple tackles for the Braves were Aaron Jones, Logan Sandlin, and Blain Walden.
Darren Wilson, coach of the EWS Bulldogs stated, “The Bulldogs are optimistic around the development of their teams. The parents and children are really doing a great job to ensure the success of our program. We look forward to the rest of the season and hope to peak by making another run through the playoffs again this year.”
Junior Division
Pulaski 33, Burnside 0
Pulaski was led on offense by Hagen Elmore who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, Steven Fitzgerald rushed for 45 yards and one touchdown, Cullen Cox rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown, and Logan Smith rushed for 45 yards, one touchdown and an extra point conversion. Quarterback Wiley Cain completed a pass to Steven Fitzgerald for an extra point conversion. Chance Stayton also scored an extra point conversion.
The Mustang defense also got in on the scoring as Alec Godby returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown. The leading tacklers were Steven Fitzgerald, Danny Butt, Hagen Elmore, Chance Stayton, Cullen Cox and Josh Young. Logan Smith and Danny Butt each had fumble recoveries.
