Daulton Huling scores 3 TD’s in Burnside win

Cole Dysinger once again this week led the Southern Braves by rushing for 60 yards and two touchdowns. General Hardwick rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown. Isaac Hardwick rushed for 30 yards and one touchdown. Seth Jones and Tanner McKee each scored extra point conversions. Austin Upchurch, Tyler Crawford, Zachary Campbell, and Jacob Troxtel rushed for positive yardage for the Braves

The Southern Braves were led on defense by Chase Parmelee. Dakota Brown and Jett Phillippi each had fumble recoveries. Also, recording multiple tackles for the Braves were Jimmy Ray Perdue, Michael Raliegh, Mason Heath, Cameron Pierce, Nick Coleman, Skylar Perdue, Logan Whitt, and Kevin Hacker.

The Nancy Dragons were led on defense by Austin Epperson and Westin Dick who recorded five tackles each.



Junior Division

Southern 27

Nancy 0

Patric Edwards started the scoring off early this week for the Southern Braves, as he took the opening kickoff 65 yards for his first touchdown. Patric also rushed for 93 yards and one additional touchdown. Isaiah Baker had 53 strong rushing yards, one touchdown, and one extra point conversion. Logan Dykes rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown. Caleb Honeycutt completed two passes for extra point conversions, one going to Braden Venable and the other to Tristan Benadum.

The Southern Braves saw a total team effort in recording their first shutout of the season against the Nancy Dragons. The Braves Defense was led by Tristan Benadum, Adam Hembree, Matthew Nelson, and Patric Edwards who each recorded five tackles. Isaiah Baker, Logan Dykes, Trevor Brock, Landon Fields, and Charlie Hill had four tackles each. Adam Hembree and Landon Fields each had quarterback sacks and Adam Huff sealed the victory with an interception on the last play of the game.

Nancy was led in tackles by Jonathan Gallagher who recorded six tackles and Colt Smith who had five tackles. Chase Brown had an interception to halt a Braves drive.



Senior Division

Southern 33

Nancy 26

The Southern Braves were led by Clayton Phelps who had 128 yards rushing and 23 yards passing. Clayton rushed for two touchdowns, rushed for two extra point conversions, and passed for one additional extra point conversion; Jose Herrera rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Jones rushed for 17 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Dodson had 37 yards rushing, 23 yards passing and one extra point conversion. Blain Walden contributed positive yardage rushing.

The Nancy Dragons were led by Hunter Cromer who rushed for 117 yards, two touchdowns, and also returned a kickoff for his third touchdown on the day. Kody Smith rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown.

The Southern Braves defense was led by Brandon Dodson and Clayton Phelps who each had five tackles. Jose Herrera, Bradley Fischer, Aaron Jones, Austin Clark, Jordan Hardwick, Isaiah Baker, Trevor Ridner, Matthew Nelson, and Jeff Clark each had multiple tackles for the Braves.

The Dragon defense was led by Nevin Fent who recorded seven tackles.



Pee Wee Division

EWS 19

The Bulldogs were led this week by Dakota Slavey who rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Caleb Adams rushed for 57 yards, Dylan Loveless rushed for 56 yards and Zack Huff converted one extra point.

On defense, the Bulldogs were led in tackles by Sean Mankin and Dakota Slavey with five tackles each. Austin Mankin, Dylan Loveless, and Zack Huff had three tackles while Levi Blevins, Isaiah Cook, Jordan Lanter and D. J. New each had multiple tackles. Caleb Adams had a fumble recovery and Dakota Slavey a quarterback sack.



Junior Division

EWS 36

The EWS Bulldogs were led by Jesse Hudson who rushed for 95 yards, two touchdowns and two extra point conversions. Kolton Adams rushed for 55 yards, two touchdowns, and one extra point conversion. Toby Wilson rushed for 55 yards one touchdown and one extra point conversion, while Andrew Baugh, Gage Chanseler, and Micah Hutchinson each contributed positive yardage.

The Bulldogs were led on defense by Jesse Hudson with seven tackles and Gage Chanseler, Dawson Haberly and Christian Long with four tackles each. Sam Baker, cannon Calder, Zack Davis, Micah Hutchinson, Nick Williams, Toby Wilson, Kolton Adams, Andrew Baugh, Brian Estes, and Jimmy Griffin each had multiple tackles.



Senior Division

Shopville 28

Jesse Whitaker led the Tigers with 144 yards rushing, 30 yards passing, one touchdown and two extra point field goals. George Gregory rushed for 89 yards, caught passes for 20 yards and rushed for two touchdowns. Clayton Purvis added 20 rushing yards and one touchdown. Jacob New rushed for 23 yards and caught passes for an additional 10 yards.

Tyler Kirby led the Bulldogs on offense by rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Toby Wilson, Dylan Stewart and Lane Wilson each contributed positive yardage.

The Tigers were led in tackles by Jacob New, George Gregory, and Jesse Whitaker who had five tackles each. Austin Mullins and Clayton Purvis added three tackles each. Jacob Willis, B.J. McKinney, Jacob Blevins, and John Davis each had multiple tackles. Allen Cline, Bobby Jo Dykes, Iris Starry, and Daniel Mink helped shore up the Tiger defense in their victory over the Bulldogs.

Jarod Denney had another huge day for the Bulldogs on defense as he totaled 11 tackles and three quarterback sacks. Zack Bullock had seven tackles and one quarterback sack Dylan Stewart had six tackles and Tyler Kirby had five tackles. Logan Abrams, Daniel Price, Lane Wilson, and Jesse Hudson each had multiple tackles.



Pee Wee Division

Burnside 31

Oak Hill 0

The Burnside Generals were led to victory by a strong rushing game which saw them rack up a total of 316 yards of offense on the ground. The strong effort was led by Daulton Huling who rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Jaden Gibson rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. Christian Bach rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown, while Jacob Mounce rushed for 51 yards.

On the defensive side the ball, the Generals held Oak Hill out of the end zone by a total team effort. Daulton Huling led the way for the Generals with five tackles and two quarterback sacks. Max Hampton recorded three tackles and one sack. Contributing to many tackles for the Generals were Jadan Gibson, Christian Bach, Jacob Mounce, Luke Burge, Jay Tyler Cowan, Aaron Goodpastor. Jeremiah Johnson, Hunter Dowell, Devin Goodpastor, Justin Stewart, Connor Goad, JJ Prater, Jason Branscum, Calvin Hoggins, Bobby Lewis, and Dawson Silverio.



Junior Division

Burnside 7

Oak Hill 0

The Burnside Generals were led by Joe Floyd who rushed for 74 yards, one touchdown, and one extra point conversion. Josh Ramsey contributed 56 yards rushing.

On defense the Generals were led in tackles by Joe Floyd, Josh Ramsey, and Drew Sawyers. Kamron Terry recovered two fumbles.



Senior Division

Oak Hill 32

Burnside 6

Jacob Burchett led the Oak Hill Wolverines to their fifth straight victory on Saturday by scoring four touchdowns. Jacob rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns and he had 20 yards receiving and one touchdown. Justin Whitten had 78 yards rushing and one touchdown and Jacob Raikes had 78 yards rushing. Quinton Stallion had 35 yards rushing and four receptions for 22 yards and two extra point conversions. Quarterback Brandon Pruitt completed five passes for 42 yards, one touchdown, and two extra point conversions.

The Burnside Generals were led by Josh Roberts who had 45 receiving yards and one touchdown. William Lemmon, Zach Coggin, Dustin Floyd each had positive yardage for the Generals.

Lucas Turpin led the Oak Hill defense with seven tackles. Dylan Shadoan had six tackles and a fumble recovery. Cody Boston, Brandon Pruitt, and David Young had six tackles each. Tucker Robinson, Brody Hale, Jacob Burchett, Treven Spencer, Justin Whitten, Matthew Brumley, and Dan Lewis each had multiple tackles.

Josh Roberts led the Burnside defense by making six tackles on the day. Austin Ballou, Tyson Mounce, and William Lemmon each had multiple tackles.
