Maroons go Yellow for Team Elmore

Pulaski basketball teams to stage ‘Yellow Out’ Nights in support of Athletic Director Randy Elmore

Somerset — The Pulaski County High School boys and girls basketball teams will be giving up their traditional school color of Maroon, and will wear yellow in their next two home games next week (Tuesday, Jan. 22 and Friday, Jan. 25).

The Pulaski teams will wear yellow shirts and yellow socks in support of their Athletic Director Randy Elmore, who was diagnosed with cancer nearly two years ago.

Yellow is the color of sarcoma, which is what Randy Elmore has been bravely battling over the past two years.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Pulaski will host a boy/girl doubleheader against Russell County High School, and on Friday, Jan. 25, Pulaski will host district rivals Rockcastle County High School in another boy/girls doubleheader. On both nights, the girls game will tip-off at 6 p.m., and the boys game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Also, the Pulaski County High School basketball programs are encouraging all fans to wear the color yellow in support of Randy Elmore’s, and others, battle against cancer.

The Pulaski County High School basketball teams will be wearing yellow socks and special made yellow Team Elmore T-shirts.

Players and fans from Russell County High School and Rockcastle County High School are also encouraged to wear yellow, in hopes that the entire Pulaski County High School gym will look like a sea of yellow.

Randy Elmore, a former standout point guard for Russell County High School, has served as an  Pulaski assistant boys basketball coach and has been helping with the girls basketball program – along with his AD duties.
