Thirty-five boysʼ and 38 girlsʼ senior basketball players in Kentucky have been selected to tryout for the WLKY Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Classic.
Among Kentucky’s elite prep basketball players, Pulaski County High School seniors Taylor Gover and Brittany Warren were chosen to tryout for the Kentucky All-Star team.
Gover was selected, and played, for the Kentucky Junior All-Stars last season. Gover has scored over 2,000 points for his career, and became the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Gover, a two-time Commonwealth Journal/Clear Channel Player of the Year, is averaging 23.7 points per game. Earlier this season, Gover was selected to tryout for the McDonald’s All-American game.
Warren was selected to tryout for the Kentucky Junior All-Star team last season. Warren was selected as the Commonwealth Journal/Clear Channel Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season.
Warren is averaging 22.4 points per game.
Invitations will also be issued to Player of the Year selections from each of Kentuckyʼs 16 regions.
“This is the beginning step to formulating to next class of Kentucky All-Stars,” Kentucky Game Director Dave Satterly said. “We are excited about the level of talent in the Bluegrass State, and we look forward to a competitive year of competition versus Indiana.”
Tryouts will be held Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at Georgetown College.
