Pulaski Co. outruns North Hardin, 57-35

Somerset — The Pulaski County Maroons rolled to 3-0 on the season thanks to last night’s 57-35 blowout win over winless North Hardin in the annual Don Marshall Bowl.

PC quarterback Riley Hall had a huge night for the Maroons, completing 18-of-27 pass attempts for 238 yards and three touchdowns.

Hall also had a nice night on the ground, rushing for 71 yards on six carries for two more scores, but he was hardly a one-man show on this night.

Caleb Cox led PC with 76 yards on 13 attempts, while kicker Derek Burgett led the way by scoring 15 points, thanks to six PAT’s and three field goals — 34, 22, and 34 yards respectively.

Pulaski County raced out to a very quick 20-0 lead after one quarter of play, thanks to Hall’s legs and his arm.

The sophomore QB got PC on the board just :50 into the contest, as his 42-yard scoring run with 11:10 left in the first stanza gave the Maroons a very quick 7-0 lead.

However, PC would not be finished in the opening quarter.

Hall also scored on a 6-yard run to extend the lead to 14-0 in favor of the Maroons, while the Pulaski quarterback also hooked up with George Gregory on a 31-yard pass play for another score, giving Pulaski a 20-point cushion after one period.

North Hardin tried to keep things close, thanks to a big night from quarterback Andrew Rugerio, who threw for four TD passes and 298 yards in the contest.

North Hardin’s Dante Johnson was North Hardin’s Player of the Game, thanks to 5 receptions for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Hall meanwhile took MVP honors from Pulaski County.

The Maroons — 3-0 on the season — will host a 3-0 Russell County team next week in Pulaski’s 2013 home opener.
