Two injured in wreck near Kingsford

Two people were injured, one airlifted to Lexington, after a wreck Wednesday approximately 15 miles south of Somerset at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Kingsford Road.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, at 3:32 p.m., Cathryn Reynolds, 28, of Ky. 3057, Somerset, was operating a 2009 Honda Civic southbound on U.S. 27 and was attempting to make a left turn onto Kingsford Road when she turned into the path of a northbound 2009 Honda Civic operated by Josh Hoots, 28, of Pine Street, Monticello.
A passenger in the Civic, Sara Nicholes, 26, of Oak View Drive, Somerset, was treated by EMS and airlifted from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center by Air Methods.
Hoots was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by private vehicle.
Sheriff's units were assisted by the Tateville Volunteer Fire Department and Burnside Fire Department.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing by the sheriff's accident reconstruction team.
