Car collides with truck on Ky. 914

Somerset —

Two people were taken to the local hospital Wednesday after their car collided with a truck southeast of Somerset.
The collision, which happened at around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, happened when a 1990 Ford L8000 truck, driven by Joshua Cross, of Winfield, Tenn., collided with a 1995 BMW car, driven by Mark Gambalie, 50, of Somerset.
According to Ant-hony Phillips, with the Ferguson Police Department, the accident happened on Ky. 914 in front of Waste Connections in the Ferguson city limits. Phillips said Cross was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Ky. 914 when he pulled into the path of Gambalie’s vehicle.
The collision sent the BMW over the embankment, where it came to rest.
Gambalie and his wife, Lesa Gambalie, 48, also of Somerset, were both treated at the scene by Somerset-Pulaski County EMS and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Firefighters at the scene said a dog was also in the car at the time of the accident. Phillips said he never saw the dog, but he said he was told family members had picked the pet up.
Cross, the driver of the truck, was not injured.
Emergency responders stayed on the scene for about an hour.
Phillips was assisted at the scene by the Ferguson Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset-Pulaski County EMS.
