Two men have been indicted for allegedly having sex multiple times with two sisters under 16 years old, and the girls’ mother is facing charges as well because police say she encouraged the incidents.
According to information provided by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Anthony Demont Hale, 30, Rickie Robinson, Jr., 23, and Kristy E. Johnson, 35, all of Somerset, were arrested Tuesday on multiple charges after an investigation allegedly revealed that Hale and Robinson Jr. had sexual contact with a 14-year-old female and 15-year-old female, both daughters of Johnson.
“The criminal acts were discovered after the (victims) confided in their classmates at school that the sexual acts were occurring with adult males,” stated a press release from the sheriff’s department.
School Resource Officer Deputy Scott West came across information on the alleged activities and contacted Detective Glen Bland, with the sheriff’s department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
According to Bland, the females had been having sex with Hale and Robinson Jr. — who both lived in the same home as the victims and Johnson at 3345 Ky. 80, Lot C, — throughout January and February 2014.
Bland said Hale and Robinson, Jr. told investigators they did have sexual contact with the two females.
“The investigation also revealed that the mother of the female juveniles had knowledge of the illegal acts, failed to report the activity to authorities, and condoned the activity (that) was occurring in the home,” stated the press release.
Bland said the mother encouraged the sexual relationships between Hale and Robinson, Jr. and the two females.
“That is the reason she was charged with the crimes she was charged with,” said Bland.
The two females were taken out of the home and placed in foster care, where they remain.
Bland said Johnson has an older daughter and said she doesn’t live in the home.
A Pulaski County Grand Jury last week indicted Hale, of 203 Clements Ave., Somerset, on seven counts of third-degree rape. According to the indictment, Hale had sexual contact with both female victims through January and February.
Third-degree rape charges are brought down when the sexual relationship is consensual but one of the people involved is not of consenting age.
Robinson, Jr., of 3345 West Ky. 80, Lot 12, was indicted on one count of third-degree rape.
Johnson, also of 3345 West Ky. 80, Lot 12, was indicted on eight counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, illegal sex act.
All three were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
An indictment is an accusation only. A defendant is assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a jury.
